Lady Cranes Team for the Elgon Cup

A 23 woman strong Lady Cranes team has been named for the 1st leg of the 2013 Elgon cup on 15th June which also double as the semi final of the 2014 world cup qualification for the single slot for Africa. Lady Cranes needs to reclaim the Elgon cup that they relinquished to Kenya last year in order to make the trip to South Africa in August to take on Africa’s number one seeds, the Lady Boks. The team makes the 16 hour trip to Nairobi this evening aboard the Easy Coach bus.

Kizito Christine, Rosenburg Kanyunyuzi, Joanita Warry Ssenfuka (captain), Evelyn Aweku, Harriet Kayonjo, Matilda Tino, Aalliya Adania, Irene Zigge, Mary Nakanyike, Rachel Kakaire, Jean Mary Nyadoyi, Asha Nakityo, *Phiona Nalubwama, *Zurah Namatovu (Thunderbirds), Hellen Gizamba, Loy Mbabazi, Brenda Kayiyi (assistant captain), Josephine Namayega, Charlotte Thereza Mudoola, Claire Anena (Black Panthers), Beatrice Atim (Entebbe Sharks), Helen Koyokoyo Buteme (Thurrock T-birds), Fortunate Irankunda (Entebbe Whales).

*Nalubwama and Namatovu will earn their first caps.
